Made famous by a catastrophic landslide in 1248, in which roughly 5000 people perished, Abymes sits just south of Chambéry in an Alpine Valley where the grape Jacquère is dominant. The name Abymes is said to come from an old translation of ruin, or abyss. Here we have a 5 hectare holding, in which the plot dedicated to Mary Taylor is 1 hectare. Benjamin Ravier works the vines according to HVE 3 standards of sustainability, committing to practices that allow for unadulterated expressions of the terroir of Abymes.

Wine Description
2022 Vintage Note:
2022 was a low production year, due to a hail storm and a very hot summer. The harvest was lower but the harvest was of good quality in terms of sanitary condition and maturity of the grapes due to a beautifully sunny summer. The 2022 vintage is thus very aromatic. This Abymes in particular has intense fruity notes, and mineral finish. On the palate, this wine is both lively, solid, with a fruity taste and good acidity. Delicate, precise palate, lemony freshness and fine minerality for this Abymes 2022.
